Committee Mission: This Committee exists to establish criteria for the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Monument Grant Program, evaluate and prioritize PLSS Monument Grant applications, review grant work, and report grant performance measures with respect to Minnesota Statutes 381.125.
Objectives and Deliverables:
- Aid the Minnesota Geospatial Information Officer (GIO) and the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo) in developing a PLSS Monument Grant Program pursuant to 381.125.
- Review grant applications, prioritize, and recommend grant recipients to the GIO and MnGeo.
- Review completed projects for compliance with the grant program and assist with creation and/or review of performance measure reports for the legislature.

Grant Requests:
- MnGeo released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to Minnesota counties in February, 2024 and awarded $9.1 million in grants on May 1, 2024. A summary of this grant process can be reviewed and downloaded here: Summary of the 2024 PLSS Monument Grant Requests.
